- Recreation Center and Swimming
Pool Pass: NSHC pays the cost for employees
to utilize the local Recreation Center and swimming pool.
- Employee Assistance Program: Available
to the employees and their family 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
- Employee Scholarship Program: For those
positions that do not have training dollars,
NSHC may reimburse the employee's tuition,
books and lab fees upon successful completion
with a "C" or higher, and not to exceed five
hundred dollars ($500) per year.
- Flex Leave: Regular part-time and full-time
employees begin accruing flex upon start date.
Accrued leave is available after three (3)
months. Accrual rates are based on years of
service. New employees earn 5.54 hours per pay
period (18 days per yr).
- Extended Illness/Subsistence Leave: Is one leave
bank that can be used for two types of paid leave.
Accrued leave is available after three (3) months.
Subsistence leave is limited to 40 hours per calendar
year. The accrual rate is 1.54 hours per pay period.
- Holiday Pay: Is available to regular part-time to
full-time employees. The holidays are: New
Year's, President's Day, Seward's Day, Memorial
Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's
Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the employee's
birthday. Holiday pay is provided on a pro-rated
basis based on the employee's scheduled workday
the day before and after the holiday. Holidays
may be accrued and used at a later date.
- Other Available Leave includes: Jury Duty
Pay, Bereavement Leave, Family Medical Leave.
- Health Insurance: Is available to regular parttime
of .625% to full-time employees. Employees
that enroll will receive medical, dental, vision and
prescription coverage. Coverage begins on the
first day of a month, after a 90-day waiting period
is met. Double coverage is available if both
spouses work for NSHC in a minimum of regular
part-time .625%. The cost to employee per pay
period is $16 for employee only, $32 for employee
and child(ren), $34 employee and spouse, $50 for family. The deductible per calendar year is
$200.00 for single employees and $600 for family.
- Short & Long-term Disability Insurance: Is
available to regular part-time .625% to full-time
employees. Coverage begins on the first day of a
month, after a 30-day waiting period.
- Life Insurance, Accidental Death &
Dismemberment Insurance: Is available to
regular part-time .625% to full-time employees.
Coverage begins on the first day of a month,
after a 30-day waiting period.
- Travel Accident Insurance: Is available to all
employees, Board of Directors, Commissioned
Officers and temporary duty personnel (TDY)
from their date of hire or appointment.
- Money Purchase Pension Plan: Is a retirement
plan employees are enrolled in on a quarterly basis
once the plan entry requirements are met,
requirements are: The employee is at least 18
years of age, completed not less than 1,000 hours
and 12 months of service. NSHC pays a
contribution equal to 7% of the employee's gross
earnings on a quarterly basis. There is a vesting
schedule, an employee is 100% vested after five
(5) years of service. Employees who are rehired
within 5 years of leaving NSHC will have their
employment information within the last 5 years
considered for an earlier entry into the retirement
plan to receive contributions.
Elective Benefits Include:
- American Family Life Assurance Company
(AFLAC): Employees select their own
insurance policy(ies) available through Aflac
and make their premium payments through a
payroll deduction each pay day.
- Tax Sheltered Annuity Plans: Through several
available vendors, employees may participate in a
long-term savings or investment plan through a
pre-tax salary reduction plan on a bi-weekly basis.
NOTE: Plan booklets are provided to employees, any
changes to the plan documents are provided before an
effective date of change. Any conflict between this
summary and the plan documents will be resolved by
the Benefits Plan Administrator. |
