The Eye Care Department at NSHC provides services to patients of all ages:
- Comprehensive eye exams (starting at age 6 months)
- Annual diabetic exams
- Ocular disease detection and management, including glaucoma and macular degeneration
- Surgical referral and after care
- Contact lens fitting
- Vision therapy and rehabilitation
- Education and research on eye disorders and prevention
- Wide selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses for every budget
- Carry retail contact lenses in the office
In addition to servicing Nome, annual field trips are made to every village in the Norton Sound service area.
