In addition to filling medication prescriptions, the pharmacy department provides a number of related services:

  • Consumer consultations and education – customers have the opportunity to speak with a pharmacist in person and in private.  Verbal and printed instructions are provided to customers.
  • Provider consultations and education – Clinic providers and nurses consult on old and new therapies, and issues related to medication use prior to medications being prescribed.
  • Anticoagulation clinic – Patients on anticoagulants are monitored for appropriateness of therapy.  All Coumadin, heparin, and lovenox patients are included in this clinic.
  • Village clinics – Medications are shipped on a daily basis to patients in the villages.  Consultation with village based midlevel providers and Community Health Aides on questions or concerns with medication.
