NSHC emphasizes preventative care. We encourage residents of the region to screen for osteoporosis (bone loss) using the dexa scanner. Women are also encouraged to schedule their yearly mammogram for early detection of breast cancer and are encouraged to schedule a breast exam with their provider prior to a mammogram. Self-referrals for mammograms are accepted.
Bone density scans must be referred by a provider. Patients, are encouraged at the time of scheduling their mammogram to ask their provider about bone density. |
