2 COVID-19 Cases Identified on Sunday
Nome, Alaska –Norton Sound Health Corporation identified two COVID-19 cases in Nome on Sunday, August 7.
Join NSHC’s Tribal Leader Call at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays for the latest information on COVID-19 in the region and ask any healthcare questions you may have for medical professionals. This Wednesday, August 10, in addition to a COVID-19 update, NSHC’s Dr. Peterson will provide education on the monkeypox virus outbreak. There are currently no known cases of monkeypox in the region.
Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccinations are available for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. To get your child vaccinated in Nome, please call Primary Care at (907) 443-3333 and request to schedule a “nurse-only” pediatric COVID-19 vaccination appointment. In regional villages, please contact your local clinic to schedule an appointment or be added to the waitlist.
In Nome, there has been an update to the location of COVID-19 vaccinations. If you would like a COVID-19 vaccine, please schedule an appointment at the NSHC Primary Care. In the village, please contact your clinic.
There are currently 14 active COVID cases in the region: 12 in Nome, one in Elim, and one in Golovin.
