NSHC Offers Airport COVID-19 Vaccinations
As of April 19, Norton Sound Health Corporation is offering COVID-19 vaccinations to incoming travelers at the Nome airport. The vaccinations will be available to travelers when they arrive on Alaska Airlines flight 151, which lands at approximately 10:40 a.m. each day. Prior to boarding the plane in Anchorage, information on how to register for a vaccine in Nome will be given to each passenger. Pfizer vaccines will be on-hand at the Nome airport, and appointments are not required. The Pfizer vaccine is a two-step vaccine and appointments for the second dose can be made at local village clinics or in Nome.
NSHC is also offering COVID-19 vaccinations at the Operations Building Testing Center from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. At this location, vaccination appointments are required.
COVID-19 vaccinations will still be offered at the pharmacy and after hours at Nome City Hall. At the NSHC Pharmacy, walk-ins are accepted from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. At Nome City Hall, vaccines will be available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday in April at Nome City Hall from 6:30-7:30p.m. Appointments are required.
